This 1987 Norton Classic Rotary is one of only 100 hand-built examples, created to celebrate Norton’s return to rotary-engine motorcycles. The 588cc air-cooled twin-rotor Wankel engine was renowned for its smooth, free-revving power delivery and distinctive performance, producing around 79 bhp and a top speed in excess of 120 mph.
Incredibly, this particular Classic Rotary has only delivery miles on the speedo and therefore remains in immaculate condition, with the sole exception of a small dent on the left hand side of the petrol tank. Otherwise, the Classic Rotary presents exactly as delivered more than three decades ago from the factory. Quite simply, you will not find a better, more original. example.
Coming from long term ownership, the Norton has been with a collector for all these years.
This 1989 Classic Rotary is a significant milestone in Norton’s engineering story and a true collector’s piece being preserved in near-new condition.
