This bike was built by Dave Pearce (Mr Tigcraft) himself for the owner; it was an open cheque book build at the time.
Frame is Alloy twin Beam Tigcraft with oil carrying. Swingarm & Rear suspension is Kawasaki KR1S, Forks & Yokes Yamaha OW01. The wheels are Marvic Magnesium 17”, front brakes TZ250 discs with Tokico Calipers.
Alloy Fuel tank and carbon fibre self-supporting seat unit. Yamaha TZ250 fairing.
The engine is based on a Yamaha XT600. 660cc Wisco piston with Mahle nicasil plated bore. Megacycle cam, Yamaha ignition, close ratio gearbox with Keihn CR 37 bore Carbs. Pete Gibson exhaust system & Silencers. The engine was built at Tigcraft by a Japanese Yamaha engine guy (sorry forgot his name) and was built up with new crank, conrods, etc.
The bike was never raced, due to a dispute between the sponsor and rider and has only done a few trackdays since being built.
Been in storage for a few years. I have had it running in the past 12 months and it sounds great. The rear brake has leaked and unfortunately took the paint off the rear wheel. This will need redoing and the rear brake system looking at. Otherwise, it is in excellent condition. Got a folder of details of the build, etc.
I can’t see me ever getting it back out on track, have too many other projects on the go already. Great piece of UK Motorcycle building history, which is what made me buy it ????
Bike is in Romford, Essex.
