200 Miglia di Imola Revival - 2021

  • Pressemitteilung:

Italy’s first FIM Historic Event will be held in Imola on 11-12 September 2021

The FIM is pleased to announce the very first FIM Historic Event to be hosted in Italy, during the 200 Miglia di Imola Revival on 11-12 September, which will be held at the Imola circuit.
The event is scheduled to take place in full compliance with all restrictions and guidelines associated with the COVID-19 pandemic and taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of all participants.
Once again, the Imola circuit will host an exceptional field of motorcycles, which have given the event its legendary status for many years. This weekend will be a time bubble in which to relive the moments that have made the history of this fabulous circuit. Several hundred motorcycles are expected, from the 1950s to today.
This FIM Historic Event will be one of the main parades of this event, but also an incredible historical exhibition - it will be organised with the support of the Amicale Spirit of Speed and covers in total more than sixty years of motorcycling with a selection ranging from 1970 until today with the most beautiful Grand Prix and MotoGP machines, World Championship Superbikes and legendary Endurance machines.
The FIM Historic Event concept created by the FIM is to exclusively present machines whose authenticity has been certified by a certification procedure which gives them an irrefutable identity. The quality of the selected machines and their authenticity have already been appreciated in France and Portugal during the first memorable FIM Historic Events.
To see and hear in the Historic Event FIM boxes:
Spectators are invited to go to the FIM Historic Events boxes where the collectors can give them all the necessary explanations and where they can watch the preparation and warming up of the machines. Who does not dream of being 2 meters from a MotoGP bike that is being started up?
Collectors and riders will come from all over Europe to present a selection of never-before-seen motorcycles at Imola 200 Revival.
Visitors will be able to enjoy a selection of Grand Prix and MotoGP machines from all categories, as well as Endurance champions and Superbikes ...
These historic machines were ridden by Kenny Roberts Junior, Nobuatsu Aoki, Yukio Kagayama, Luca Cadalora, Norifumi Abe, Peter Williams, Giacomo Agostini, Jean Cornu, Pierfrancesco Chili, Randy Mamola, Mick Grant, Tepi Lansivuori, Michele Pirro, Davide Tardozzi, Massimo Broccoli, David Checa, Hubert Rigal, Francesco Bagnaia, Gianfranco Bonera, Franco Uncini and Peter Sjöström who will come with his own true machine, and even the famous French comic Coluche for a world speed record on a Yamaha 750 TZ in Nardo in 1985…

Among the selection, magnificent machines from the 750 formula that made Imola famous all over the World with its legendary race - the 200 miles of Imola:
Yamaha 750 TZ, Norton John Player Spaceframe, Suzuki XR11 TR 750...
The field will also include the factory Suzuki 500 XR34 ridden by Randy Mamola in the 1979 GP season and then by Mick Grant who won the Isle of Man Senior TT in 1980.
Just restored, an official 1973 Honda France CB750 Endurance will make its 4 in 1 exhaust resonate along the 4.9 km of the circuit - this historic bike is the winning bike of the 24h of Liège and used till 75.
Among the Grand Prix machines, many 500 - the premier class - will revive the unforgettable sound of the 2-stroke engines from 74 until the early 2000s with factory and production motorcycles: Suzuki RGV and XR, Yamaha YZR, Suzuki RG with the unique 500 Segoni just restored and for the first time on track with Lorenzo Segoni himself at the handlebars ...
A Kawasaki MotoGP will also roar on the circuit accompanied by Michele Pirro's latest Ducati Superbike and a Ducati MotoGP 6 and much more
